Welcome to early October! As the rut gets closer and closer to us here in central Missouri we are getting more and more excited for every sit!

Brandon and I went out last weekend and found some huge rubs and some good fresh scrapes. We went ahead and hung some sets in those areas. This weekend we plan on taking some trail cameras and hanging them up when we go into hunt this weekend because we dont have any out right now and as bucks are becoming more and more active, we need to start figuring out where they are going and what they are doing. Obviously they are scrapping and making rubs we just need times specifically! These are some of the biggest rubs we have ever found, and with all of them being within 50 yards of some scrapes, we feel that this is a very active travel area and we can pick off the buck that is tearing this place up with the right wind and some help from the good lord above.

But, last sunday evening as we hung our last set close to some of these rub, it was around 5:45 p.m. we decided to stay put so we wouldnt scare anything out of the area while we were leaving and wouldnt you know it, we saw 4 bucks and some big Missouri gobblers moving around. One shooter came within 80 yards, a big heavy 8 pointer and we got some footage of some young bucks fighting, and they were making some noise now, they werent sparring! We also plan on making some mock scrapes this weekend to see what we can bring in, we have never tried it so it will be cool to try and do! The key thing there is to just remain as scent free as possible when doing it and to leave the area as un-disturbed as possible!
But that was last weekend, we look forward to this weekend, and hopefully on our next entry, we can tell a story of success with the hoyt and the trophy ridge arrows and broadheads, have some harvest photos or some awesome trail camera pictures to show for!
Be safe, good luck, and God bless!
Here is some recent footage . . .
